This year, I want to lean into simplicity. Life doesn’t always feel easy and it’s felt especially difficult since the pandemic began.
I am committed to figuring out how to make things easier. This won’t work for everything but, to the extent possible, I plan to ask myself: what would this look like if it were easy? What is the easiest way to solve this? What can I let go of to take it easy right now?
Easier doesn’t have to mean worse. Easier doesn’t have to mean failure. Sometimes, the easy route is the best route. Easy feels right for me right now.
“Easy on Me” , the beautiful song by Adele comes to mind. The vulnerable plea “Go easy on me, baby” resonated with me. What would it look and feel like to go easy on myself? What would it look and feel like to go easy on each other?
In 2022, I am embracing ease for myself, for others, for love.
